Mustang Announcements

District Announcements

Chatham County Schools will be closed for students with a three hour delay optional workday for staff on Friday, February 27, 2015. Officials have indicated that there will be hazardous driving conditions again tomorrow due to black ice and frozen precipitation. In Chatham County specifically, a number of side roads are still in poor condition. Additionally, school contractors are continuing to address school campuses tomorrow and employees are encouraged to use an abundance of caution.

Please take a moment to take the inclement weather make-up time survey located on all school websites and on the Chatham County Schools homepage. The survey will be open through 3 PM on Monday, March 2, 2015. Any necessary make-up time plans will be communicated shortly. Stay safe and warm!

What Are You Doing??
Send us pictures of how you are spending all these snow days. Are you outside sledding or playing in the snow? Are you inside drinking cocoa, making cookies, reading a book, playing board games? Or maybe you are just sleeping all day. Make sure YOU are in the picture. Send pictures to Mrs. Klein.  cklein@chatham.k12.nc.us. We are working on a yearbook feature about our two weeks of "snow".
Young Authors Celebration Rescheduled
Our Young Authors celebration has been moved to Tuesday, March 3.  Local author Devon Flaherty will address the sixth grade at 8:20 and the seventh grade at 9:20 in the multipurpose room. After her talk the winners will be recognized. At 10:30 Ms. Flaherty will meet with the 8th grade YA participants in the media center.
Parents are welcome to attend the assemblies. All the Young Authors books will be on display in the media center through the month of March.
Did You Miss the Cyberbullying Presentation?
On Monday, December 8th, Pollard parents, teachers and administrators saw an excellent presentation by Susan Sutton regarding Cyberbullying - what it looks like, what it does to children and students, what we as adults can teach and do to help.  In case you missed her presentation, here is the Cyberbullying PowerPoint.  Every parent should see this presentation.
